Mala is a Senior Solicitor in the child brain injury team. She acts exclusively for children who have suffered brain injury as a result of negligence.
Mala takes pride in providing an empathetic service to her clients and fighting their cases with tenacity. She has her own caseload and also works alongside senior members of the team.
Before specialising in cases involving child brain injury, Mala represented individuals in a range of medical negligence claims against hospitals, general practitioners and dentists. Mala has acted in cases involving delays in diagnosis of disease, substandard surgery and injuries sustained around the time of birth. Mala is experienced in dealing with high value and complex cases involving serious and life changing injuries.
Mala is also experienced in a wide range of personal injury cases including road traffic accidents and tripping claims. She has pursued claims with the Motor Insurer’s Bureau where the defendant driver in a road traffic accident is either uninsured or untraced. She has also acted for victims of violent crime in making a claim with the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority.
Mala has represented bereaved families at inquests involving death in a nursing home, sudden infant death syndrome and deaths which could lead to a conclusion of suicide.
Mala is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) and secretary of the APIL Child Injury specialist interest group.
Mala read English Language and Literature at Kings College London. She then completed the Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course at Nottingham Law School and was awarded a first class LLB.
