Holly joined Bolt Burdon Kemp in September 2024, as a Paralegal in the Children Brain Injury team. She assists Sally Simpson in a variety of claims, regarding personal injury and clinical negligence. Due to her previous experience in healthcare, Holly understands the importance of working holistically with clients to achieve the results they deserve.
Holly previously worked in the community establishing and managing packages of care for children and young people. She was responsible for recruiting and training nurses and carers for individuals with additional medical and social needs, ensuring they were fully supported in both hospital-to-home transitions and daily life. Holly found this role particularly rewarding, as it demonstrated how a dedicated team can support and enable a young person and their family to live fully and access new experiences and opportunities. Holly’s prior experience in healthcare gives her a unique perspective in understanding how clients may be let down by sub-standard care, and what measures should be in place to safeguard these issues from occurring. She is passionate about advocating for better healthcare practices to minimise the risk to patients.
In 2019, Holly graduated from King’s College London with a degree in nursing. She is a qualified and registered paediatric nurse, spending nearly five years in practice. Most of her experience involved working in paediatric intensive care, caring for critically unwell children with cardiac, respiratory, or neurological conditions. Holly obtained her critical care course and is a member of the Paediatric Critical Care Society.
In early 2024, Holly undertook her Master’s degree in Law at the University of Law. Whilst studying, she volunteered at various pro-bono clinics, providing legal services to the public on matters including family, housing, and employment. Holly also spent time working part-time as a Paralegal in a criminal defence firm. This role involved attending police interviews and court hearings for sensitive matters and vulnerable clients.
She aspires to qualify as a solicitor, with the aim of securing justice and compensation for vulnerable clients.
