Committed to swiftly progressing claims

Hannah is an Associate Solicitor in the Complex Injury team.  She specialises in medical negligence claims, in particular those relating to women’s health, and she is passionate about securing justice for her clients.

She joined the firm as a newly qualified solicitor in March 2015.  She has her own mixed case load of medical negligence cases acting for both adults and children involving claims against GPs, fatal cardiology cases, delays in diagnosis of cancer and surgical errors involving bile duct injuries, loss of hearing and limb amputations.

She has significant experience in cases involving gynaecological treatment and women’s health issues.  She has, for example, acted for patients who have suffered from vaginal injuries during child birth, delays in diagnosing gynaecological cancers and surgical errors following prolapse injuries or hysterectomies. She is passionate about helping these women whose lives have been significantly affected by their injuries causing significant pain and distress, ongoing embarrassment and lifelong adaptations needed to their daily routine due to incontinence. She is very approachable speaking to client’s about very personal and intimate health issues and prides herself on being empathetic and understanding.

She acts for families of patients who have died due to medical negligence.  She feels strongly about the injustice of such limited compensation being available to bereaved families and the lack of funding for families at inquests and is campaigning to highlight this and fighting to change the law.

Hannah works closely with the rest of the team on more complex matters involving fatal and cancer cases.  She also assists Joshua Hughes with various high value claims.

Some notable cases Hannah has worked on include:

  • Settling a claim for negligent cosmetic breast surgery against a private Harley Street surgeon in which the patient sustained scarring and psychiatric injury.
  • Acting for several Claimants against a Consultant Gynaecologist under investigation for harm to over 200 patients, most of which have now settled.
  • Acting for a mother suffering from physical and significant psychiatric injuries as a result of a negligently managed birth resulting in avoidable injuries to the mother and her baby. This claim included future costs for private midwife treatment for future births and private caesarean section costs.
  • Acting for a mother suffering a 4th degree perineal tear following a negligently managed episiotomy during childbirth.
  • Acting for several Claimants in two other group actions against firstly, a disgraced Consultant Maxillofacial Surgeon and secondly, a Consultant Uro-Gynaecologist.
  • Acting for a bereaved family after negligent cardio-thoracic surgery and care sadly led to the avoidable death of their father and husband.  This action settled close to trial.
  • Acting for a Claimant who had suffered an above the knee amputation following negligent vascular treatment and acting for a Claimant who suffered from total hearing loss following negligent ENT treatment.
  • Acting for a bereaved family after negligent cardio-thoracic surgery and care sadly led to the avoidable death of their father and husband.  This action is currently in Court.

Hannah completed her law degree at Kingston University and then attended the College of Law at weekends whilst she worked as a personal injury paralegal to complement her studies.  She completed her training at a large regional firm gaining experience in complex serious injury claims and medical negligence working alongside senior solicitors.

Hannah is an active member of Women Lawyers and Mothers, a group designed to support and inspire mothers in the legal industry.

Hannah is connected with the South East Cancer Help Centre in Purley and volunteers, helps with fundraising efforts and attends the centre to meet and speak with members. Hannah is passionate about being able to help those affected by cancer in other ways beyond monetary compensation and the SECHC aims to give any person affected by cancer an opportunity to explore ways which may help them cope with their situation such as counselling sessions, reiki and reflexology, therapy sessions, beauty treatments, nutrition.
