Sophie joined BBK in June 2022, as a Personal Assistant, supporting and reporting directly to the Head of the Abuse team, David McClenaghan. Sophie’s responsibilities include undertaking all administration tasks for David and if required, assisting other partners and fee earners in the team. A few tasks include, dealing with correspondence and phone calls, booking and arranging travel and accommodation for business trips, organising events and conferences, managing diaries and organising meetings,
Sophie has over five years’ experience working as a Personal Assistant in the legal industry. Sophie’s career started at a global law firm in London, where she worked in both the Corporate and Energy & Climate Change team. From this, Sophie has extensive experience of working with different types of people, within different areas of the law. Sophie also gained a Level 3 Business Administration qualification, finishing with a Distinction, whilst working in this role.
Sophie prides herself in her personable character and this especially supports her in easily interacting with many solicitors in the firm. Sophie works closely with the team leaders in the Abuse team, Rebecca Sheriff, Siobhan Crawford and Thomas Beale. These interactions help to support David in a wide range of situations, and her ability to absorb communication and information is a necessity. She is also responsible for managing David’s time so that he can complete his business duties. Sophie also has an interest in proactively finding new ways to improve processes and contribute to the values of BBK, which includes having a positive and can-do attitude, a passion to excel and striving to get the best results for the firm and its clients.
Sophie is proud to be part of BBK as she feels that the firm always puts clients at the forefront of everything they do, which makes her role as a PA feel very rewarding. Sophie particularly enjoys being involved in client meetings to take notes, creating documents to help keep track of work and organising internal meetings and events. Sophie has also been in regular contact with the Public Affairs team to offer her assistance with the abuse teams marketing plan. Sophie feels that her role as a PA at BBK is not limited and that there are many opportunities that make each day exciting and different. She believes that her role is not just a support role, it’s a career that can be moulded and shaped with hard work and commitment. Sophie looks forward to her future at BBK and is excited to see where her career as a Personal Assistant will take her.
