Amanda is a Partner in the firm and joined Bolt Burdon Kemp (BBK) in August 2016 as Compliance Manager. She is responsible for ensuring that the firm complies with not only its external regulatory and social responsibilities but also BBK’s own internal high standards of policy, processes and client care.
Prior to joining BBK, Amanda worked in personal injury law as a fee earner until moving into compliance and quality assurance in 2009, rising to practice manager in her previous firm. Working in personal injury law for nearly 30 years places her in the unique position to understand the requirements and pressures of all levels of staff.
The strict definition of legal compliance is “the process or procedure to ensure that an organisation follows relevant laws, regulations and business rules“. Amanda ensures compliance at BBK goes far and beyond this and encompasses not only periodic auditing, file reviews, AML & data protection but also deals with cyber awareness, internal training, complaints to the firm and actively seeks client feedback on our service.
Amanda keeps the firm up to date with regular changes to the legal landscape. She places great emphasis on accountability and transparency and the impact that of any changes on the firm and its clients.
Amanda is passionate about providing a safe haven for staff, giving them the ability to seek guidance and support in any way they need.
