Callum joined Bolt Burdon Kemp as a Paralegal in the Costs team in March 2022. Working alongside Tom Jenkinson to ensure that bill preparation is kept to a high standard and advice is prepared with sufficient detail to obtain the best possible recovery for each and every client.

His initial role within the costs team mainly comprised of preparing lower value Bills of Costs and bundles for Detailed Assessments. He has undertaken training and read key costs texts in order to develop his skills and knowledge. He is now able to regularly prepare Points of Reply, Costs Budgets, Applications for payments on account and high value Bills of Costs.

He is currently undertaking the Association of Costs Lawyers course to study costs law in greater detail and expand his knowledge of areas he was not familiar with. With the improved skill set obtained from the ACL course, Callum seeks to provide an even better service to clients and increase his contribution both within the costs team and the wider firm. Callum looks to become a qualified Costs Lawyer in 2024.

Callum graduated from The University of Law, Bloomsbury Campus in 2020 with a degree in Law. He then completed the Legal Practice Course and a Master of Laws with a mark of distinction at The University of Law, Chester Campus in 2021. Whilst studying the LPC, he developed a valuable base knowledge of costs law and studied personal injury and clinical negligence in great detail.

In addition to the work undertaken, Callum contributes to the wellbeing of BBK by running a Table Tennis Club and organising regular Football matches.
