Pete joined Bolt Burdon Kemp (BBK) as a Compliance Administration Assistant in July 2022 and works alongside Amanda Garner, Partner and Compliance Manager. The Compliance team ensures that the firm remains compliant with external policies and regulations as well as BBK’s own internal high standards. Beyond this, the team works hard to promote best practices to provide the optimal service to clients.
In his day-to-day role, Pete completes a range of key administrative functions. Most notably, undertaking periodic file audits, assisting in the collation of client file requests, conducting compliance inductions and being a point of contact for staff queries.
Pete graduated from the University of Portsmouth in 2011 with a degree in International Relations and Politics, which cultivated his ability to disseminate information, critically analyse ideas and develop an analytical mindset. In addition to this, Pete has also obtained a number of professional qualifications during his career to date. These include the Practitioner Certification in Data Protection (PC.dp), Prince2 certification and the BSI ISO 9001 internal auditor qualification; all of which he draws upon within his role at BBK.
Prior to joining the firm, Pete gained his experience in compliance within the charity sector, where he specialised in data protection and information security. His responsibilities included being the first point of contact for data protection queries, preparing the organisation for the introduction of the GDPR, drafting and reviewing data sharing agreements and creating a governance policy suite. This is where Pete developed a real interest in law, leading him to seek a position at BBK.
Pete looks forward to supporting the Compliance team and the wider firm and is keen to make a difference at BBK.
