Part of the Spinal Injury Team
After qualifying as a solicitor in February 2019, Tom joined the Spinal Injury team in January 2020. He assists Associate Solicitor Alex Dabek with complex cases while managing his own caseload of spinal injury claims.
Tom has experience in representing clients who have sustained life-changing spinal injuries as a result of both clinical negligence and accidents. He also assists victims of violent crime with applications to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority, guiding them through the application and, where necessary, review and appeal processes to secure payments for injury, loss of earnings and special expenses.
Tom is passionate about achieving positive outcomes that provide security for his clients many of whom will experience lifelong, injury-related problems including issues with mobility and sensation as well as difficulties with bladder and bowel management. He works tirelessly to ensure that clients’ awards will finance all of their needs including care, medical and therapeutic input as well as suitably adapted accommodation. Clients’ rehabilitation needs are at the forefront of his mind and he fights hard to ensure that clients have access to rehabilitation as early as possible. He has a warm, and approachable manner with his clients, while maintaining a robust approach towards Defendants whenever such skills are called for. He is working towards becoming an APIL accredited specialist in clinical negligence.
During Tom’s training he acted for clients in a wide variety of personal injury cases and actions against public authorities. He managed his own caseload of lower value claims and assisted the partners with higher value and more complex claims. He completed his Master of Law and Graduate Diploma in Law at the University of Law in Moorgate. Before entering the legal profession, Tom worked as a benefits adviser for Citizens Advice representing clients in Social Security Tribunals.
Tom ran the 2016 London Marathon, raising money for Mind, and continues to be passionate about supporting charities. He is looking forward to supporting Horatio’s Gardens and the Spinal Injuries Association alongside the rest of the Spinal Injury team.
