Laura is a Senior Associate in the Adult Brain Injury department.  She is an APIL accredited Senior Litigator and Clinical Negligence Specialist.

Laura qualified as a solicitor in 2010 and has a wealth of experience in dealing with many types of complex and high value clinical negligence cases.  She now works solely on Adult Brain Injury cases and primarily in cases where our client’s brain injury has been caused or contributed to by clinical negligence.  A few examples of the types of case Laura can assist with include:

  • delay in diagnosis and/or treatment of stroke
  • brain injury during surgery due to substandard anaesthetic procedure or substandard surgical technique
  • delay in diagnosis and/or treatment of brain infections, such as meningitis or encephalitis
  • delay in diagnosis and treatment of brain tumours
  • inappropriate treatment of pre-eclampsia during childbirth
  • Road accidents (for drivers, passengers, cyclists, pedestrians, motorcyclists etc.) resulting in brain injury
  • Accidents at work or in public places

Laura is passionate about transforming the lives of her brain-injured clients for the better.  She strives to enable them to get the support they need to rehabilitate, rebuild and find value and meaning in their new lives.  She believes that people can live full and meaningful lives after brain injury, no matter how serious their injuries are.  Laura has a specialist interest in acting for clients who have suffered a brain injury as a young adult (between the ages of 18 and 25) when the brain is still developing.

Laura takes a calm and common-sense approach to cases.  She is extremely mindful of supporting and reassuring her clients throughout the process of bringing a claim.  A past client said: “My particular thanks to Laura for her kind and caring approach during this painful experience. She was also efficient, professional and well organised”.

Laura is a keen supporter of brain injury charities such as the The Silverlining Charity, The Stroke Association and Headway.  She has previously taken part in charity fundraising events for these charities and strives to support them in raising awareness about their causes.  Laura actively campaigns for better neuro-rehabilitation for brain injury survivors.

Laura has previously acted:

  • In a claim for a teenage girl who suffered brain injury following failure to identify a blocked shunt while she was in a rehabilitation centre following surgery for a brain tumour.  The Claimant received a six figure sum for future support and therapies.
  • In a claim for a lady who suffered a stroke while giving birth, which caused her mobility and memory problems.  She received a settlement that allowed her to have necessary therapies and an adapted car.
