Lara joined as a paralegal in Bolt Burdon Kemp’s Abuse Team in August 2026. She works alongside Emma Barrow and assists on civil claims brought by survivors of abuse. Lara is dedicated to supporting clients navigate the legal process and seek accountability through their claims. She takes prides in  making a meaningful difference to people’s lives and brings an empathetic and approachable manner to her work.

Lara worked at a healthcare clinic where she regularly assisted vulnerable patients helping them feel comfortable and supported. This developed her ability to communicate with empathy and sensitivity.

Lara graduated from Newcastle University with First Class Honours in Law with European Legal Studies. It was through her studies of Sports and Human Rights Law that she developed a particular interest in abuse law. In her Sports Law research project, she explored child sexual abuse and the responsibilities of sporting organisations in protecting those in their care, which prompted her interest in the ways civil claims can provide a route to accountability. Her human rights essay, published in the North East Law Review, explored rising cases of domestic abuse and strengthened her desire to help survivors obtain justice. She was also awarded a Prize for the highest-performing student on her degree programme.
