Alvaro joined Bolt Burdon Kemp in June 2026 as a Senior Compliance Officer. He plays a key role in ensuring that the firm meets both its external regulatory obligations and BBK’s own high internal standards policy, processes and client care.
At BBK, Alvaro is responsible for periodic audits, maintaining regulatory records, managing data access requests and supporting colleagues with compliance queries. He has a particular interest in process improvement and the development of clear, efficient workflows that reduce risk and reinforce the firm’s governance standards.
Prior to joining BBK, Alvaro spent over a decade working in compliance roles at specialist law firms in London, where he developed extensive experience in file auditing, AML and KYC, due diligence, sanctions/conflict checks, residual balance management, risks and Lexcel compliance. His degree in Business Economics from the University of Westminster strengthens his analytical and process driven approach across all aspects of his work.
Alvaro is passionate about helping his colleagues and the wider firm achieve their goals, while doing so in the right way. He is committed to being an approachable and friendly source of guidance, particularly when navigating complex regulatory or compliance‑sensitive issues.
