Ryan Harvey

Ryan joined Bolt Burdon Kemp in February 2018 as a paralegal in the Spinal Injuries team.  In this capacity he works for clients whose injuries have arisen from both medical negligence and personal injury.

Ryan completed a degree in Biology at the University of Bath in 2015.  He is currently undertaking the Graduate Diploma in Law at BPP University on a part-time basis.

Before making the move into a career in law he gained several years of experience working in the healthcare industry.  This included working as a research assistant on a systematic review of Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease clinical trials and within the regulatory affairs team of one of the largest suppliers to the NHS.

This exposure of working in and around clinical environments provides him with a range of experiences from which he is able to draw from.  It was this experience, combined with a passion to work in a people-focussed sector of law, that lead him to persue a career at Bolt Burdon Kemp.

Since joining Bolt Burdon Kemp, Ryan has assisted Raquel Siganporia, Alex Dabek and Jessica Bowles across a range of cases.  This work has involved investigating claims and assisting in the implementation and maintenance of care packages to help provide the best outcome for clients.

Outside of work Ryan volunteers at a legal advice clinic and for the Leasehold Advisory Service.  He particularly enjoys the opportunity this provides to help people on a range of legal and non-legal issues, as well as affording him the opportunity to assist the wider community.

  • I developed the long-term pain condition CRPS as a result of an accident and was wary of litigation as the condition is complex and poorly understood. I am very pleased that I went ahead, and that I chose BBK to represent me.  Ben Pepper and Amber Lawler have clear experience in dealing with cases involving CRPS and were fantastic at guiding me through the process.  I was updated regularly and I have really benefitted from seeing the specialists that were involved in the case. CRPS is a condition which requires a careful approach to ensure the most appropriate medical specialists are consulted, something which Ben and Amber worked hard to ensure. My case has recently settled and I am very happy with the outcome; I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending BBK to others in a similar position.
