Ryan Harvey

Ryan joined Bolt Burdon Kemp in February 2018 as a paralegal in the Spinal Injuries team.  In this capacity he works for clients whose injuries have arisen from both medical negligence and personal injury.

Ryan completed a degree in Biology at the University of Bath in 2015.  He is currently undertaking the Graduate Diploma in Law at BPP University on a part-time basis.

Before making the move into a career in law he gained several years of experience working in the healthcare industry.  This included working as a research assistant on a systematic review of Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease clinical trials and within the regulatory affairs team of one of the largest suppliers to the NHS.

This exposure of working in and around clinical environments provides him with a range of experiences from which he is able to draw from.  It was this experience, combined with a passion to work in a people-focussed sector of law, that lead him to persue a career at Bolt Burdon Kemp.

Since joining Bolt Burdon Kemp, Ryan has assisted Raquel Siganporia, Alex Dabek and Jessica Bowles across a range of cases.  This work has involved investigating claims and assisting in the implementation and maintenance of care packages to help provide the best outcome for clients.

Outside of work Ryan volunteers at a legal advice clinic and for the Leasehold Advisory Service.  He particularly enjoys the opportunity this provides to help people on a range of legal and non-legal issues, as well as affording him the opportunity to assist the wider community.

  • I was recommended to contact BBK by a friend, but felt irresolute about making that initial call.  I needn't have.  From the onset Ben and Hannah did the most amazing job of breaking down and explaining every stage and process with empathy and sensitivity.  Throughout, they emphasised to not hesitate getting in touch should I have any questions or queries.  Their approachable, down-to-earth and professional nature made it easy for me to develop a supportive and trusting relationship with them both.  I was completely overwhelmed by the amount of work and dedication they put into my case, and for which, I will always be grateful. My injuries are life-altering, but what Ben and Hannah have done is provided me with closure, along with the opportunity and possibility of building a positive future. 'Thank You' doesn't really feel as though it carries enough weight to show my gratitude for all their hard work and belief, but "Thank you both, you are amazing".

  • Firstly, I would like to thank David McClenaghan for his initial help with my case, which was then passed to Joseph Carr who has handled my case. I was very impressed with the professional way in which Joseph handled my case from the outset to the very satisfactory outcome.  At all times through our many telephone conversations and our meeting with him at your offices Joseph was so very understanding and compassionate at some difficult times during my case.  Joseph kept me informed at all times how things were progressing and was very good at explaining any complex details or wording to me.  I built up a good rapport with Joseph over the time that he was dealing with my case. The way that Joseph handled everything helped me to make it less traumatic for me. I would definitely recommend your company. I cannot think of anything further to say to improve your excellent service.
