BBK talk to Paralympian Anna Turney on World SCI Day 2018
Bolt Burdon Kemp are delighted that Anna Turney, a two-time Paralympian (Sochi, 2014 and Vancouver, 2010) and World Cup Silver medallist down-hill ski racer talked to our Spinal Injuries Team about her life as a wheelchair user.
Today is World SCI Day 2018. This year’s theme is encapsulated by the slogan ‘Yes We Can’ and celebrates the achievements of people with spinal cord injury. Anna is the perfect embodiment of the spirit being honoured with World SCI Day and we hope you are as inspired by her as we are.
In the first part of her vlog Anna talks to us about her injury and her journey to becoming a world class GB athlete.
She then talks about her daily life after retiring from skiing, including coping in an un-adapted house, pregnancy as a wheelchair user, being a mum and what aids and equipment and assistive tech she can’t live without.
