Yorkshire school care assistant Sherley Bond jailed for abusing a teenager during the 1990s
Sherley May Bond was a care assistant at a North Yorkshire school when she abused a secondary school pupil in the 1990s.
She denied the charges against her, but was found guilty of six charges of indecent assault at a trial at York Crown Court. She was sentenced to ten years in jail by Judge Simon Hickey and placed on the sex offenders’ register for life.
Her victim reported the offences to the police in 2020 in an attempt to find answers and seek justice for what had happened to him as a child. Bond was successfully brought to justice, which shows that it is never too late to make a report to the police for a criminal offence.
