Witness Appeal – Kit Carson
I represent a client who alleges that he was sexually assaulted by Kit Carson when he was a child, whilst Carson was the Academy Director at Peterborough United Football Club. He held this role between 993 – 2001.
Michael Sean Carson known as Kit Carson had been employed with the club for over a decade. Prior to his employment at Peterborough United, he was employed at Norwich City from 1983 until 1993.
Carson was arrested in January 2017 and pleaded not guilty to 13 counts of child abuse between the years of 1978-2009. Carson died in January 2019, the day his trial was to commence. His vehicle left the road and crashed into a tree. It was determined that Carson committed suicide.
My client feels understandably cheated by Carson’s suicide because Carson was never questioned about allegedly abusing my client, let alone found guilty of the child abuse offences which he is alleged to have committed against my client. My client has never obtained the closure that he needs, to be able to properly move on with his life. The culture at the time was not to speak out about child abuse. I frequently see survivors who are only able to speak out about the abuse they suffered decades after it took place.
I am gathering evidence in support of my client’s case, because there will be no further police investigation as a result of Carson’s death. If you were sexually abused by Kit Carson or witnessed other victims being abused and are willing to assist my client in his pursuit for justice by providing a witness statement, please contact me on 020 7288 4870.
