Ex-Oldham primary school headmaster jailed for abusing pupils

Christopher Pickup, who taught at two Oldham Primary Schools in the 1970s and early 1980s, has been jailed for 10 years after being found guilty of 38 offences of sexual assault relating to 11 different complainants. Pickup abused his victims during his as a primary school teacher.

Pickup had denied the charges against him which forced his victims to give evidence against him at trial in June earlier this year but thankfully their brave testimony has put him behind bars.

I am a specialist solicitor who acts for victims of abuse in compensation claims and I have acted for many victims of abuse by teachers, including working on the ground breaking case of FZO v (1) Adams and (2) Haringey London Borough Council where the defendant was ordered to pay more than £1.1 million in damages.
