Allegations of sexual abuse by a priest in Gateshead

Rev John Anthony Clohosey of Gateshead has been accused of raping a woman in Gateshead in 1986.  He will face this allegation at a trial at Newcastle Crown Court in May 2021.  Clohosey was a priest at Our Lady Immaculate and St Cuthbert’s RC Church in Crook, County Durham, until he was suspended in 2019.  At the time parishioners were not informed of the reason behind his suspension.

I have successfully acted on behalf of many clients in relation to sexual abuse by priests and understand both the legal and emotional issues involved.  If you have any information or have suffered abuse at the hands of John Clohosey at any time, you can anonymously contact Joseph Carr in our Abuse team on 020 7288 4807 or you can contact our switchboard on 020 7288 4800.
