Celebrating 10 years of support for Cerebra: An evening to remember
In October 2024 we had the privilege of hosting an inspiring event in support of Cerebra, a remarkable charity dedicated to helping children with brain conditions. For over a decade we have proudly supported their work, and this event allowed us to share with our guests, from the legal world and charity sector, the vital impact they have on the lives of so many families.
Cerebra’s mission is close to our heart. They work tirelessly to level the playing field for children with disabilities, ensuring each child can access the world and enjoy life to the fullest, regardless of the challenges they face. From innovative equipment that fosters independence to services that offer crucial support to families, Cerebra empowers children to shine in their own unique way.
It’s an exciting new era for this charity, with Jess Camburn taking the helm as the new CEO in November 2024, and Charlotte Geeves, who we were delighted to welcome at the event, becoming its new chair of trustees. Both leaders bring a fresh perspective and renewed energy to the charity, and we’re excited to see how they will steer Cerebra into the future.
One of the evening’s highlights was the chance to explore some of the incredible creations made by the team at the Cerebra Innovation Centre. These ingenious designs, ranging from adaptive sports equipment like surf boards, riding helmets, ball shooters and tag rugby belts, to mobility aids such as scooters with ventilator baskets, are transforming the daily lives of children with brain conditions. The passion and creativity of Dr Ross Head and his team, who run the innovation centre, were on full display, with interactive exhibits allowing guests to see firsthand the difference these tools make.
Beyond their innovative products, Cerebra offers a range of services that are invaluable to children and their families. From sleep services to legal rights support, research, and a toy lending library, its comprehensive approach ensures every child receives the care and resources they need.
As we reflect on a wonderful evening celebrating our 10-year partnership with Cerebra, we encourage everyone to consider supporting its ongoing efforts. Whether through a one-off donation or by participating in the Relay Your Way event next year – which will see thousands of people create a relay through Britain. There are many ways to get involved. We’re proud to be fielding a team for the relay next year and invite you all to join us in supporting this incredible charity.
Together, we can help Cerebra continue to change lives, one child at a time.
