Why join BBK?

Here are some of the many great reasons to join our team:

  • Dedicated and passionate

We only act for claimants who have suffered serious injury. We recruit the best people to deliver exceptional service to our clients.

  • Career development

We want our people to progress in their careers. We have clear career progression pathways for both our legal and professional support staff. We are committed to promoting from within the firm wherever possible and we conduct yearly appraisals to set goals and ensure our people are supported with their career aspirations. We take training and support in all areas seriously – from legal know-how, well-being & development through to management and leadership programmes.

  • Diversity

We are proud to buck the typical law firm trends in terms of diversity and inclusion. Our clients and our staff have diverse histories and we welcome anyone regardless of their social background, gender, ethnicity, sexuality or disability.  We promote based on ability alone. Jonathan Wheeler, our managing partner sits on the Law Society’s LGBT+ Committee, and we are members of its Equality and Diversity forum. We maintain gender parity throughout our organisation (including the partners and senior management team). We take our corporate and social responsibilities seriously, which includes championing social mobility within our profession. As such we are members of the Living Wage Foundation and signatories to the Armed Forces Covenant.

  • Close knit teams

We believe that our people develop best when they have a supportive network around them. Despite our continual growth, we make sure that everyone has a clear support structure around them and we ensure team sizes are appropriate to enable this.

  • Comprehensive support

We invest heavily in supporting our people, from IT (everyone has a laptop and mobile phone) through to dedicated Costs, Compliance, HR and Support teams to ensure the smooth running of the business, allowing our solicitors to focus on what they do best.

  • Invest in training

We encourage our staff to develop their knowledge and skills base, encouraging their passions and supporting the practical skills our people need to do their best work. We frequently run bespoke training days for our solicitors, delivered by highly-regarded practitioners and trainers.

  • High value and complex work

Over the years we have taken a strategic decision to move away from low value injury work. Instead, we focus on higher value and complex work, where we can put together the best team to service a client’s needs from our specialist solicitors. We have a dedicated Costs team who focus solely on supporting all of our solicitors and clients in the costs arena.

  • Well regarded

We are ranked in both of the leading independent legal directories, The Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners, for our work in personal injury and clinical negligence. The Legal 500 have ranked us a top tier firm – of which we are incredibly proud. We believe this reflects the serious cases we act in, and the exceptional service we deliver to our clients.

  • Campaigning

We are serious about helping those with serious injury even if they are not our clients. We regularly highlight issues which the seriously injured are affected by, to raise awareness, challenge perceptions and engage in healthy debate.
