Witness appeal – abuse by Rev Brian Law, vicar from Southport

I represent a client who has instructed me that they were subjected to alleged sexual and emotional abuse by Rev Brian Law between 1988 and 1991. Rev Brian Law was the vicar of St Phillip’s Church in Southport.

My client recalls that Law was also the choirmaster at St Phillip’s Church and that he had a pastoral role with St Phillip’s Church of England Primary School, which was adjacent to the Church.  According to my client’s instructions, my client and other children of the same age, were placed with the vicar at the vicarage where they regularly stayed overnight. During the overnight stays Law allegedly sexually abused children, including our client.

Law was arrested by the police in April 1993 and he was charged with several counts of indecent assaults against children. He committed suicide on 6 April 1993 following his arrest.

The alleged abuse by Law has had a profound effect on my client, and they are now seeking justice and closure for their trauma.

I am appealing for witnesses on behalf of my client who may be able to assist with our investigations.

If you have any information that might assist my client in their pursuit for justice, please contact me by email: marekmarczynski@boltburdonkemp.co.uk or telephone 07551 296379.
