Witness appeal: Abuse by House Father Ronald Cooper at Leeways children’s home
Bolt Burdon Kemp is appealing for information about Ronald Cooper, the House Father at Leeways children’s home in south London, who was convicted of child sexual abuse.
I represent a client who has instructed me to bring a claim against the local authority for the sexual abuse he suffered by Cooper at the home in the late 1970s.
Cooper was the ‘House Father’, in charge of Leeways Children’s Home from the mid-1960s to the mid-1980s based in South London. In 1985, Cooper was convicted of various offences involving indecent photography of young children.
He was sentenced to a total of four years’ imprisonment.
I am appealing for witnesses on behalf of my client who may be able to assist with our investigations. It is also possible there are more victims who have not yet felt able to come forward and speak about their abuse.
If you were placed at or worked at Leeways Children’s Home, or if you or someone you know has any information in relation to Cooper that may assist my client with their pursuit of justice, please contact me directly by email: juliajensen@bbkllp.co.uk or by telephone 07989 531756.
