Supporting Contact on Dinosaur Day
Here at Bolt Burdon Kemp, we love any excuse to celebrate and eat cake. Today the Child Brain Injury team are excited to be celebrating Contact’s ROAR-some Dinosaur Day!
This day commemorates the life of Cameron Mathieson and fundraises for Contact who provide support to families with disabled and unwell children.[1]
From a very young age, Cameron Mathieson had Cystic Fibrosis and Duchenne’s Muscular Dystrophy. Between the ages of 2 and 5 he had to stay in hospital for treatment, before he sadly passed away at the age of 5. This was understandably an incredibly difficult time for Cameron’s family following a long and challenging period of treatment for Cameron.
Contact provided support to Cameron’s family throughout his time in hospital. Lynette, Cameron’s mother, says: “Like us, they believe disabled children and their families should be supported to live life to the fullest extent they can.”
In Cameron’s memory, Contact have started an annual celebration and fundraiser themed around Cameron’s favourite thing – dinosaurs, or as he called them, Dowsers! A great name, if you ask me.
