Bradford police arrest 10 men in 1990s child abuse investigation
Police investigating historical child sexual abuse in Bradford have arrested 10 men.
The men, aged between 49 and 71 and from the Bradford area, were arrested as part of an ongoing investigation by West Yorkshire Police.
The alleged offences, which are said to have occurred between 1994 and 1997, involve six victims who were aged between 13 and 15 at the time.
All suspects were interviewed under caution before being released on bail pending further enquiries.
Detective Chief Inspector Vicky Greenbank, who is leading the investigation, reinforced the force’s ongoing commitment to tackling child sexual abuse, whether historical or recent.
She invited those who may have been victims of child sexual exploitation to contact the police, adding: “Child sexual abuse and exploitation is an abhorrent and heinous crime and one which affects some of the most vulnerable people in our society.”
Non-recent abuse cases can be incredibly complex, both legally and emotionally. For many survivors, it can take years or even decades to feel ready to speak about what happened.
