Witness appeal: alleged abuse at Manor House Children’s Home, Bristol

I am appealing for information to assist in a claim regarding alleged abuse at the Manor House Children’s Home in Frenchay, Bristol in the 1970s.

I am currently representing two clients in relation to alleged abuse suffered as children at the care home between 1975 and 1978.

One of the alleged abusers was a volunteer swimming instructor called Edward Barber – who was charged with child sexual abuse offences against our clients and two other victims in 2023 but died before the proceedings could continue any further.

Our clients also allege they were physically and emotionally abused by members of staff, including a Miss Ida Tidder, who was the Principal at the home.
