New investigation into child abuse at Wisteria Lodge

In February 2016 Alan Todd and Kenneth Owen, both formerly social workers employed by Coventry Council, were found guilty of indecent assault and child cruelty happening at Wisteria Lodge Care Home in Earlsdon, Coventry during the 1980s.

West Midlands Police have now confirmed that a new investigation has been launched into allegations of child abuse at the Wisteria Lodge care home. The new investigations include concerns that Todd and Owen were also working at other care homes in Coventry in the 1970s, 80s and 90s.

The West Midlands Police force have also made an apology to one of the victim for how their officers dealt with a complaint she made in 1998.
