Former St Martin’s Primary School Teacher Anthony Kerr Charged with Sexual Assault

Anthony Kerr, a former teacher at St Martin’s Primary School in Fitton Hill, has been charged with ten counts of sexual assault upon two former pupils of the school.

Kerr, who is now in his 70s and no longer teaching at the school, is alleged to have abused two children at the school in the 1970s and 1980s. The children were aged between seven and nine years old at the time of the abuse.

Kerr was formally charged with the offences, which have been described as “very serious”, on 25th March 2014 at Oldham Magistrates Court. He is expected to stand trial in the coming months.
