Ten people hospitalised following bus collision

Having recently dealt with a number of personal injury claims involving multiple claimants in a coach crash myself, I was interested to see an article in the news about a collision between a bus and a lorry that occurred near Kendal.

The passengers on the bus at the time included several school children. The bus driver, aged 47, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving. The driver of the lorry, aged 44, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

A total of 28 people were involved in the collision, 24 of which were aged between 11 and 18. Five ambulances attended the scene. The North West Ambulance Service confirmed that ten patients were taken to hospital including six children. Fortunately, no one suffered life-threatening injuries.

A single coach or bus accident can result in numerous potential claims for personal injury. While the claims for each passenger will be based predominantly on the same facts, the severity of each claimant’s injuries and the level or damages owed can vary hugely.

We have a team of solicitors at Bolt Burdon Kemp that have specialist knowledge of road traffic accident claims who have acted for not only single individuals but also for multiple claimants.
