Nick is an Associate Solicitor in the Spinal Injury team at BBK having joined the firm in May 2025.
Nick acts for individuals who have sustained life changing spinal injuries (as well as cases of complex polytrauma where spinal injuries are a predominant factor) as a result of accidents (including road traffic accidents, occupier’s liability, employer’s liability and fatal accidents) and clinical negligence. Nick also has experience bringing claims with an international element, predominantly on behalf of English nationals who have sustained life changing injuries abroad (either directly against foreign insurance companies or against tour operators under the Package Travel Regulations) but also on behalf of foreign nationals injured whilst visiting England on business or tourism.
Whilst Nick appreciates that no amount of money will every truly make up for the life changing injuries his clients have suffered, Nick enjoys working with his clients in order to secure them the compensation that they need to make the rest of their lives as comfortable as possible. Nick prides himself in having an analytical eye for detail whilst always remaining approachable to his clients, seeking to establish strong rapports with his clients in order to understand their particular aims and how best to achieve them.
Prior to joining BBK, Nick spent two years working for a large defendant practice, defending claims on behalf of some of the country’s largest insurers. This experience has provided Nick with key insight into insurers’ approaches to cases which he is able to utilise to help secure the best results possible for his clients now that he has returned to acting for individuals.
Nick completed his training contract at a large, national law firm. He qualified in March 2018 into their international serious injury team where he remained until July 2023. This is where Nick developed his expertise in claims which include an international element. As well as advising his clients regarding compensation for their injuries under foreign applicable laws, Nick has expertise advising his clients regarding rules of jurisdiction, including in the reported case of Flowers v Centro Medico [2021] EWCH 2437, which clarified the law regarding habitual residence for individuals with second homes in other jurisdictions following the tragic death of an English national due to sepsis in a hospital in Spain.
