At Bolt Burdon Kemp we are passionate about supporting injured people, not only by winning their cases but by advocating for change. Our work is shaped by the experiences of our clients and by our partnerships with charities that support injured people across the UK.
We raise awareness of the key issues impacting our clients and other seriously injured people with Government, parliamentarians and policymakers. Our solicitors regularly respond to consultations, contribute evidence to Select Committees and All-Party Parliamentary Groups, and work alongside charities to push for reform.
Since publishing our first Manifesto for Injured People in 2024, we are pleased real progress has been made. After years of campaigning for mandatory reporting of child sexual abuse, the Home Secretary announced in January 2025 that new measures would be introduced through the Crime and Policing Bill 2025. On maternity care and birth trauma, the Health Secretary has called a nationwide review which is now underway. Our long-standing campaign to reform the law on apologies in civil proceedings has also led to movement from the Government, though full implementation is awaited.
But challenges remain, and much more must be done. That is why we are proud to launch our updated Manifesto for Injured People 2025, now focused on seven priorities that we believe are vital to improving the lives of those living with serious injury. Under each priority we set out clear and practical policies to deliver real change.
Since our last manifesto there has also been a change of Government. Our updated Manifesto for Injured People is designed to ensure that their needs remain firmly on the political agenda at Number 10, in Parliament and across Government.
