Put on a hat and make a difference: Hats for Headway Day 2025

Hats for Headway Day is back on Friday 16 May 2025, and it’s your opportunity to help people affected by brain injuries — just by wearing a hat!

What is Hats for Headway Day?

Hats for Headway Day is a fun but important event which is organised by Headway UK, the charity that works to improve life after brain injury by providing vital support and information services. Hats for Headway Day is part of Action for Brain Injury Week, which runs from 12–18 May 2025.

It’s simple: wear a hat, donate £2 (or more if you can), and help Headway UK continue offering support, information, and rehabilitation to survivors of brain injuries and their families.

Why it matters

Every 90 seconds, someone in the UK is admitted to hospital with a brain injury. These injuries can change lives in an instant. They can affect memory, mobility, communication, and even personality.

Why we are supporting Hats for Headway Day

Our adult brain injury team is made up of kind, compassionate and dedicated people who provide exceptional client care and deliver results not only in terms of the compensation awards achieved, but also in terms of rehabilitation and support to ensure our clients get everything they need to flourish post injury.

We do this by obtaining interim payments of compensation at the earliest possible opportunity to fund an experienced brain injury case manager to set up a package of rehabilitation and care as well as ensuring our clients have access to specialist equipment and accommodation that meets their needs.

We also provide practical support through our Early Support Services which is designed to reduce any immediate pressures regarding finances, housing, employment or immigration for example.

We recognise not everyone with a brain injury has a claim for compensation and that’s why we support organisations like Headway UK who are there for all brain injury survivors.

It is so important services are available to help people rebuild their lives after brain injury. Headway UK provides a range of support and services including practical advice and guidance on living with a brain injury, navigating welfare benefits to seeking legal advice. It also operates a helpline, has an emergency fund, and offers survivors the opportunity to connect through its online communities. Finally

Wearing a hat might seem like a small act, but when thousands of people do it together for the same cause, it becomes something powerful. This Hats for Headway Day, let your headwear do the talking— and help give hope to people recovering from brain injuries.
