BBK’s Spinal Injury Team take on half marathons for Horatio’s Garden
At BBK, we believe in going the extra mile – both in our legal practice and in our community efforts. This October, we are taking this commitment literally as our Spinal Injury Team trains for the Oxford Half Marathon and the London Parks Half Marathon, all in support of Horatio’s Garden.
Horatio’s Garden is an incredible organisation dedicated to creating and nurturing beautiful gardens in NHS spinal injury centres across the UK.
These gardens are essential for patients, offering spaces for reflection, relaxation, and rehabilitation.
Our support for Horatio’s Garden goes beyond running, with the team regularly helping out in the gardens, running events for patients, and holding a series of fundraising activities.
Recently, we organised a lunch at the office where colleagues generously donated to enjoy a meal of home-cooked food. They say a picture is worth a thousand words—so we’ll let the photos do the talking!
Our home-cooked feast was as delicious as it was successful, with generous donations making every bite even sweeter.
As part of our fundraising initiative, we also hosted a successful mono-printing workshop at our offices. This event, delivered by the wonderful volunteers of Horatio’s Garden, brought together several of our external contacts for an evening of creativity and community spirit.
Participants fully immersed themselves in the mono-printing process, knowing that these same activities are regularly enjoyed by patients at Horatio’s Garden London & South East. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the experience and created some marvellous mono-prints as shown on the photos!
We are thrilled to share that the generous donations from our professional contacts and friends of the charity raised during the event have got us closer to reaching our fundraising target.
Our combined efforts in training and fundraising reflect our dedication to making a positive impact for the wider SCI community. Each step we take toward the half marathons brings us closer to ensuring Horatio’s Garden can continue to provide these vital, tranquil environments for those who need it most.
As we lace up our running shoes and prepare for the races on 13th October, we are motivated by the knowledge that our efforts will contribute to maintaining and enhancing these important spaces.
If you are inspired by the work Horatio’s Garden does and would like to help us reach our fundraising target in their aid, you can donate here. Any contribution helps sustain these beautiful spaces that provide comfort and healing at times of need.
Stay tuned for updates as we continue to support this wonderful cause in the lead-up to our races in two months.
