Tim Westwood charged with additional sexual offences
Former BBC Radio 1 and Capital Xtra DJ Tim Westwood has been charged with two further sexual offences, bringing the total to 17.
The new allegations relate to an indecent assault involving a girl aged 16 to 17 in Hammersmith and Fulham in 1991, and a sexual assault involving an 18‑year‑old woman in Wandsworth in 2004.
These charges come on top of those brought in October 2025, which include counts of rape, indecent assault and sexual assault against seven other women. Westwood, 68, has previously denied the allegations and pleaded not guilty to earlier charges.
The Metropolitan Police said the women who have come forward have placed their trust in the investigation and officers remain committed to supporting them. Westwood is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court at a future date in relation to the new charges and a trial for the original 15 charges is scheduled to begin at Southwark Crown Court in January 2027.
The Crown Prosecution Service said it authorised the two additional charges after reviewing further reports. Prosecutors confirmed there is enough evidence for the case to move forward and reminded the public that criminal proceedings are active and that the defendant has the right to a fair trial.
