Former Scout Leader, Gary Lane, Guilty of Sexual Abusing Children

Former Scout Leader, Gary Lane, pleaded guilty at Oxford Crown Court on 27 January 2017 to sexually abusing young boys in 2015.

Lane admitted two counts of rape of a child under 13, one count of sexual assault on a child under 13 and one count of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity between 1 January and 30 November 2015.

In what can only be described as multiple acts of cowardice, Lane failed to attend court in 2016 to answer these crimes. He fled to Scotland, presumably to avoid justice for those that he abused.

However, he has now ended a long and stressful period for those he abused by pleading guilty to his crimes. He will be sentenced on 10 February 2017 at Oxford Crown Court.
