Dorset Police officer charged with rape and sexual assault offences

Another police officer was charged in relation to two instances of rape and six other sexual offences.

PC Ravi Canhye, who is a serving police officer from Dorset is due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 3 February 2022.

PC Canhye, who is 46 years old, is accused of raping a woman twice in early 2022. He also faces six other sexual offences.

Earlier this month, David Carrick, a serial rapist who served with Met Police for 20 years, admitted to 49 charges involving sexual offences against 12 victims.

Based on the Freedom of Information request by the Guardian, as many as 150 Met Police officers currently are under investigation for sexual misconduct or racism.

It is important that victims of sexual abuse by the police are supported in their fight for justice. They should also be entitled to claim compensation for the harm that was caused to them by the perpetrators.
