Child abuse at Eccles Hall School

We are currently acting for a client who was sexually assaulted by David Tuohy, a teacher at Eccles Hall School in Eccles Hall School in Quidenham, Norfolk, when he was between approximately 11 and 14 years old.  Eccles Hall School was a boarding school for children who found life difficult in mainstream education and this meant pupils came from different parts of the UK and often found themselves separated from their parents.

In the police case, it was noted that Tuohy was a former teacher and later headmaster at the school and that his obsession with spanking young school boys waned as the boys got older.

Tuohy was convicted of indecently assaulting a number of school boys that took place in the 1970s and 1980s at Eccles Hall School.  These convictions followed a 9 day trial at Norwich Crown Court in February 2015 in which Tuohy denied all charges against him and made his victims relive their abuse.  The police confirmed that further alleged victims came forward after Tuohy’s conviction.

Prior to be being sentenced for child abuse, Tuohy committed suicide and therefore avoided a likely prison sentence.

Our client feels cheated by Tuohy’s cowardly act and he feels that justice has not been served.  Tuohy betrayed our client’s trust and our client feels he has never obtained the closure that he needs to finally move on with his life.

If you were sexually abused by David Tuohy at Eccles Hall School and are willing to assist our client in his current case by providing a witness statement about your time at the school, please contact us for a confidential and free conversation on 020 3733 3536
