The 2nd webinar in a five-part series addressing racial inequality in Maternal Healthcare took place on 3rd February 2022. “The Impact of Maternity ‘Continuity of Carer’ on Mother and Midwife”.

Hosted by Hannah Travis of our Women’s Health Team, with Expert Speaker, Elsie Gayle midwife, accompanied by a powerful lived experience account from a mother. Attendees will hear about the delivery of ‘culturally safe’ maternity care, the Mimosa Midwives model and the positive impact of continuity of carer from the perspective of both midwife and patient.

The third webinar is scheduled for 15th February 2022 3:00pm-4:00pm “Racial Bias in Women’s Health” with speaker Dr Christine Ekechi, Consultant Obstertician and Gynaecologist and Co-chair of the Race and Equality Taskforce at the RCOG and spokesperson for racial equality.
