Witness Appeal – The Oratory School, Reading

I represent a client who has instructed me to bring a claim against The Oratory School in Reading for sexual and emotional abuse by his teacher in the 1980’s.

When my client bravely spoke up about the abuse to his Housemaster and another teacher, he was shamed into keeping it secret and no further action was taken against the teacher.  The teacher in question continued to teach at the school for around 30 more years until my client felt able to report the abuse to the police, at which point he resigned from his post.

While my client was still at school, other children reported incidents of abuse by Jonathan O’Brien, another teacher at the school.  O’Brien was immediately dismissed by the school.  In 2014, O’Brien was convicted for abusing three boys at The Oratory School, as well as six boys from Winterfold House School near Kidderminster.

I am gathering evidence on behalf of my client.  If you were sexually abused by staff at The Oratory School, heard of or witnessed other victims being abused, or if you have any other information that would assist my client in his pursuit for justice, please contact me on 07990 440 475 or by email: emmaferguson@boltburdonkemp.co.uk.
