Hokman is an Associate Solicitor in the Adult Brain Injury team, having joined Bolt Burdon Kemp in April 2019. With more than 12 years’ experience representing injured Claimants, he specialises in complex, high‑value brain injury cases and is supported by his dedicated team: Armaan Singh and Daisy Doardo. Hokman is also bilingual and speaks Cantonese.

Adult brain injury expertise

A personal injury and specialist solicitor, Hokman has extensive experience acting for clients who have sustained life‑changing brain injuries in road traffic collisions and workplace accidents. He also represents Claimants who suffer brain injuries because of clinical negligence.

Before qualifying as a solicitor, he worked as a community pharmacist, and he draws on this medical background to bring an additional layer of insight to his legal practice. He is known for his forensic attention to detail and his calm, determined approach to securing the best possible outcomes for his clients.

Supporting brain injury survivors and their families

Through many years of working with brain‑injured clients and their families, Hokman understands the profound challenges they face — from memory difficulties and fatigue to frustration, anger and feelings of isolation. He takes a proactive, solutions‑focused approach, which includes liaising with hospitals to secure early neurorehabilitation, appealing benefits decisions, arranging respite support for carers and challenging the Health and Safety Executive where necessary. He also prioritises obtaining early and regular interim payments to ensure his clients can access specialist rehabilitation, professional care, essential equipment and suitable accommodation as soon as possible.

A tailored and compassionate service

Hokman recognises that every client is unique and deserves a tailored, compassionate approach. He keeps clients fully informed and reassured throughout the claims process, offering availability outside office hours, involving family members where appropriate, arranging face‑to‑face meetings and always taking the time to listen.

Examples of settlements secured for clients

Hokman has achieved substantial settlements for clients with severe and complex brain injuries, including:

  • £6.5 million for a construction worker who sustained catastrophic head injuries in an accident at work.
  • £2.9 million for a pedestrian who suffered multiple injuries, including a severe brain injury, after being struck on a pedestrian crossing.
