Hannah Travis

Senior Associate in the Medical Negligence Team

Hannah is a standout lawyer for her exceptional combination of legal expertise, professionalism, and genuine empathy. What sets her apart is her ability to explain difficult concepts clearly and honestly, ensuring we always felt informed, reassured, and involved in key decisions.

Legal 500, 2027

Hannah is a Senior Associate Solicitor in the Complex Injury team.  She specialises in medical negligence claims, in particular those relating to women’s health, and she is passionate about securing justice for her clients.

She is an experienced litigator nearing 12 years qualification and many years of specialist complex injury work. She has her own mixed case load of medical negligence cases acting for both adults, children and bereaved families involving claims against GPs, fatal cases, delays in diagnosis of cancer and surgical errors involving bile duct injuries, loss of hearing and limb amputations.

Hannah has been instrumental in the development of the dedicated Women’s Health team with significant experience acting on behalf of women who have received delayed gynaecological cancer diagnoses or sustained maternal trauma in childbirth. Her reputation as a leader in this field continues to grow and she is a notable practitioner and campaigner for Women’s health.

She is passionate about helping these women whose lives have been significantly affected by their injuries causing significant pain and distress, ongoing embarrassment and lifelong adaptations needed to their daily routine due to incontinence. She is very approachable speaking to client’s about very personal and intimate health issues and prides herself on being empathetic and understanding.

She acts for families of patients who have died due to medical negligence.  She feels strongly about the injustice of such limited compensation being available to bereaved families and the lack of funding for families at inquests and is campaigning to highlight this and fighting to change the law.

A powerful example of her work can be seen in Jennifer’s story, where she speaks about how Hannah supported and guided her through her medical negligence claim.

Hannah works closely with the rest of the team on more complex matters involving fatal and cancer cases.  She manages her own team of qualified lawyers and trainee solicitors and helps supervise the progression of these cases and the continued development of her team.

Hannah prides herself on her exemplary client care and ensuring the best interests of her client’s are always at the heart of everything she does in progressing her claim. Clients are quick to provide unbidden feedback in sharing their thanks and comfort and empathy provided by Hannah during such a difficult time in their lives.

Hannah has been listed as a key lawyer in the last few years of the Legal 500 with the Women’s Health team being notable. The firm’s growing women’s health offering is driven by Joshua Hughes and Hannah Travis, who are advancing novel claims in areas such as endometriosis and fertility injury.
