Meet the artist – Dustine West: The ‘Secret Bid Silent Auction’

As part of our Virtual Art Exhibition showcasing the exquisite drawings of artist Dustine West, Bolt Burdon Kemp are delighted to host an online secret bid silent auction in aid of the Spinal Injuries Association.

Dustine has very kindly donated 20 original signed pieces of his artwork, ready for framing, with all proceeds going directly to the SIA.

Auction rules

Auction Opens – Wednesday 9th December 2020 at 12pm

Auction Closes – Friday 11th December 2020 at 5pm

How to bid:

  • Look at all the wonderful Lots below and pick the ones you would like to bid on
  • After the auction closes the highest bid will win and Bolt Burdon Kemp will contact the highest bidder for each Lot to arrange for payment to be made directly to the SIA, and obtain delivery details
  • Your unique piece of art will be posted to you upon confirmation of payment.  (Please let us know if your piece of art is intended as a present and we will do our best to get it out to you in time for Christmas!)

By placing a bid in the auction, each bidder agrees to these auction rules:

  1. The silent auction will run from 12pm Wednesday 9th December 2020 until 5pm Friday 11th December 2020. Winners will be notified on Tuesday 15th December 2020
  2. By placing a bid, you are entering into an agreement to purchase the item at the offered price
  3. The highest bid will be deemed to be the winner.  In the extreme case where an entry error has occurred, please contact us for the retraction of your bid.  If this occurs we reserve the right to offer the item to the second highest bidder.
  4. In the event of a tied bid, both bidders will be contacted and given the opportunity to raise their bid
  5. Payment of winning bids is due within 7 days of notification of a winning bid.  If we have been unable to collect payment after this time, then the Lot will be offered to the next highest bidder.
  6. Bolt Burdon Kemp reserves the right to add or withdraw items, without notice, to or from the auction
  7. All decisions made by Bolt Burdon Kemp and the Spinal Injuries Association are final

Lot 1: Tower View

The proper name for a group of Giraffes is: ‘a tower’: and the sight of such elegant animals is just as impressive as this work of art.

Lot 2: London’s most famous face

The Elizabeth Tower (renamed to mark the Diamond Jubilee in 2012) is known across the world as the home of ‘Big Ben’. An amazing piece, well suited to any Londoner’s office wall.

A portrait of Bob Dylan, one of the most influential figures in music.

With over 600 classic songs to his name, and numerous awards (including a Nobel Prize), a piece of incredible art worthy of any wall!

With over 5 million sold, the newest version of the classic Mini is still just as popular as ever. Brilliantly detailed depiction of the front end of a Mini sport – inspired by Dustine’s first viewing of the remade ‘Italian Job’

A side-on view of an American C-53 Skytrooper.  A dedicated troop transporter, this plane amongst others was an integral part of the D-Day invasion of Normandy (as seen in HBO’s Band of Brothers).

Who doesn’t find a killer rear end to be a thing of beauty?  The back panel and exhaust of a classic Jaguar E-type in all its glory.

One of Dustine’s earliest pieces of work post-injury: this item captures a typical evening scene on the underground, synonymous with London.

A beautiful portrait of a river hippopotamus, emerging from the water.

Africa’s second most deadly animal (behind the Tsetse fly), although for now this loveable-looking giant seems content watching you from a distance.

An amazing piece commemorating Tim Peake’s spacewalk at the International space Station – making him the first British Astronaut to do so.

Big, bold and beautiful, nothing says luxury like a Bentley!  A brand known around the world, this piece is an excellent conversation starter!
