International Paedophile Mark Frost Jailed for Abusing Boys
Yesterday Mark Frost, previously known as Andrew Tracey, was back behind bars where he belongs. Last week he was convicted upon his own confession of 45 abuse offences and yesterday he was sentenced for his monstrous crimes perpetrated upon children.
Frost, now aged 70, admitted to 39 counts of abuse in relation to children in Thailand and six charges against children in the UK. He was handed 13 life sentences at the Old Bailey and will serve a minimum of 16 years in prison meaning that it is likely he will rot in prison until his death.
His despicable acts of abuse spanned both the UK and Thailand; six charges related to the abuse of two pupils at a Worcestershire School in the 1980’s and 1990’s and 39 charges related to abuse of children in Thailand between 2009 and 2012. It is clear that Frost was targeting children for decades.
Through the expert investigations of the National Crime Agency, Frost has been brought to justice and will no longer be a threat to children. In 2013 he escaped the Thai authorities to avoid prosecution for the offences he had committed in Thailand and managed to stay on the run for a further three years. He failed to evade police however and was extradited from Spain to face his crimes.
Sadly many more victims are now expected to come forward to report the abuse suffered by Frost. Whilst the convictions for the abuse offences that occurred in the UK relate back to 1989, Frost was a school teacher from the 1970’s until 1992 in the UK including Hertfordshire, Worcestershire and Leyton. Between 1967 and 1991 Frost was also a senior member of the Scout Association in addition to being a member of the Paedophile Information Exchange. The true amount of victims is therefore unknown and looks likely to go into the hundreds.
The National Crime Agency together with the police has urged anyone that has suffered abuse by Frost to come forward whether that be to the police initially or to a victim support group such as the NSPCC and to this end a special helpline has been set up for anyone to contact that believes they may have been abused by Frost; 0800 328 0904.
