Former King Edward’s School Teacher Philip Evans Jailed for Sexual Abuse

Philip Evans, a former teacher at King Edward’s School in Edgbaston has been jailed for 3 years and 8 months in respect of sexual abuse committed against pupils at the school.

Evans, who taught music at the school and ran the school’s RAF Cadet Scheme, installed secret spy cameras in the school’s changing rooms and the Cadet storeroom. He then recorded himself sexually assaulting pupils.

Evans’ crimes came to light when police raided his home following a tip off that he had downloaded child pornography. Upon seizing Evans’ computer, police discovered the recordings that Evans had made at the school.

Evans has been convicted of indecent assault, voyeurism and making indecent images of children and has received a custodial sentence of three years and eight months.
