Disgraced Addenbrookes doctor Myles Bradbury to appeal sentence

Convicted paedophile Myles Bradbury has made an application to appeal his 22 year prison sentence.

It is understood that his legal team believe that his sentence is too long and that it should be reduced. This is despite the fact that during the sentencing hearing in December 2014 his defence barrister, Angela Rafferty, stated to His Honour Judge Hawkesworth that she had been instructed by Bradbury to put forward no mitigation whatsoever.

The hearing is due to take place on the 12th June 2015 at the Royal Courts of Justice before Lady Justice Heather Hallett.

Upon hearing of Bradbury’s appeal our client’s mother stated:

“considering his atrocities and the pain it has caused to the children he abused…it is utterly contemptible that he considers he should serve even one day less of the sentence he rightly deserved”.

We believe that Bradbury’s actions are now serving to reopen wounds that had only just begun to heal in December last year. We are hopeful that, for the sake of our clients and all survivors of Bradbury’s abuse, Lady Justice Hallett declines his appeal.
