Sarah joined Bolt Burdon Kemp in May 2018 as a Costs Draftsperson in the Costs team.
Sarah graduated from the University of Durham where she read Philosophy, Politics and Economics, before completing the Graduate Diploma in Law and the Legal practice Course. She is currently a Graduate member of C.i.Lex and pursuing her qualification as a Chartered Legal Executive.
Prior to joining Bolt Burdon Kemp, Sarah spent several years gaining experience as a paralegal, predominantly at firms appointed to the NHS panel of defendant solicitors; where she managed her own caseload of clinical negligence cases. During this time Sarah also undertook a secondment in the legal services department of a large NHS Trust where she dealt with personal injury claims and inquests. This insight into the behaviour of Defendant litigators gives Sarah paralleled insight when dealing with costs claims arising from clinical negligence.
As a member of the Costs team, Sarah regularly drafts Costs Budgets, Bills of Costs, and Points of Reply. She also undertakes advocacy in the High Court on costs applications.
