Committed to swiftly progressing claims

Rujina is a Solicitor in the Adult Brain Injury department.  Before joining Bolt Burdon Kemp in September 2018, Rujina spent a number of years working with clients who had sustained life-changing brain injuries, spinal cord injuries and significant orthopaedic injuries.

Rujina is focused on achieving the best possible rehabilitation and quality of life for her clients.  She prides herself on thinking outside the box in order to identify ways to support a client whilst their claims are ongoing, ensuring that they have the necessary support in place for their immediate and long term needs.  Rujina has a calm and approachable manner which her previous clients have always found reassuring.

Rujina now specialises solely in acting for adults who have suffered brain injuries due to negligence or accidents.  A few examples of the types of cases Rujina has worked on include:

  • hypoxic brain injury during surgery
  • inadequate emergency hospital treatment following head trauma
  • substandard neurosurgery
  • traumatic brain injuries following road traffic accidents

Rujina has experience working on various types of clinical negligence claims, including injuries arising out of negligence during childbirth, delays in diagnosis and treatment of disease or injury and negligent surgery.  She also worked on a number of inquests assisting families whose loved ones had died whilst in the care of the NHS.

She has a broad range of experience dealing with personal injury claims, including road traffic accidents (motor vehicles, cyclists and pedestrian), public transport accidents, accidents at work and claims relating to public and occupiers liability.

During her training, Rujina assisted her former colleagues with their work as Professional Deputies for those who lacked capacity to manage their property and financial affairs.

Rujina spent a number of years mentoring students on the Pathways to Law Programme, which was established by the Social Mobility Foundation.  She continues to volunteer and fundraise for a number of charities.

Rujina is passionate about increasing her knowledge of different cultures and faiths and in particular how this may interlink with her clients’ rehabilitation and damages awards.  Rujina has drafted a number of blogs touching on these issues including the following:

Rujina is a fluent Bengali speaker.
