Committed to swiftly progressing claims

Katie is a Solicitor working within the Medical Negligence and Personal Injury Team. She joined Bolt Burdon Kemp in June 2019.

Katie works on a variety of personal injury and clinical negligence cases. Her clients include both children and adults and she is also involved in fatal claims.

Katie has a particular interest in clinical negligence claims and has breadth of experience including cases relating to the delayed diagnosis of cancer; unrecognised surgical procedures; pharmaceutical errors; urological injuries following negligent catheterisation and negligently performed surgery leading to the need for above- knee amputation.

She has a keen interest in clinical negligence claims relating to women’s health, for example the incorrect reporting of smear tests leading to delayed diagnosis of cervical cancer, and mismanagement of birth injuries.

Katie is commended for her approachable and flexible manner.  She is passionate about helping those injured by accidents or negligence and works empathically with clients to understand their individual needs.  She works closely alongside independent medical experts and barristers in investigating potential allegations of negligence and honing the evidence needed to win a case.

Before studying law, Katie worked as a prop modeller and mould maker for 10 years.  During that time, she worked extensively on sculpting silicone prosthetic limbs for amputees and making medical models for trainee doctors to practice on.  This gave her a unique insight into the difficulties faced by those who are physically disabled, and their needs.

Katie decided to pursue a career in law and completed the Graduate Diploma in Law in London in 2019. She obtained a distinction. She went on to complete a Master’s degree in Professional Legal Practice in 2021 and again achieved a distinction. As a paralegal, Katie attended the High Court in London in respect of applications and listing of trials on behalf of the firm.
