Having dealt with quite a few serious motorcycle accidents I was interested to read that a recent report has pin pointed ten roads which are treacherous to bikers and have caused many accidents, most of which are in the Midlands and North of England. Single-carriage A-roads were rated as the most dangerous roads and a stretch of the A537 from Macclesfield, Cheshire, to Buxton, Derbyshire, is one of the worst, with just under fifty percent rise in fatal and serious collisions since last year. Nearly seventy percent of fatal or serious accidents on this road involved motorcyclists. Despite this report, recent government statistics showed that the number of people killed on UK roads has reached a record low and that Britain now jointly has the safest roads of any major nation in the world.
