The One Show Reports Allegations Over Standards in Cosmetic Surgery

A report on Tuesday night's The One Show investigated claims that some cosmetic surgery groups are offering date-limited promotions and two-for-one offers on surgical procedures, leading to patients feeling pressured to have 'packages' involving several procedures. It was alleged that time limited offers can also force patients to make snap decisions, without the necessary information needed to make an informed choice, leading to an increase in medical negligence claims.

Further allegations were made regarding the quality of service provided to some patients, and alleged medical negligence by surgeons during procedures.

Thankfully, if you are considering cosmetic surgery there is guidance available, and the BAAPS (British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons) website provides advice and a list of registered surgeons.

If you have had a bad experience with a particular surgeon you can make a complaint to the relevant authorities. If you have suffered injury as a result of medical negligence then you may also consider bringing a compensation claim. Our medical negligence solicitors are experienced in dealing with this type of claim, and would be happy to discuss your case with you.
