New Inquiry into Alleged Medical Negligence at Stafford Hospital

An inquiry into avoidable deaths at Stafford Hospital opened on 8th November 2010. Chaired by Robert Francis QC, the inquiry will look at why the health care system tolerated a "terrible standard of service" at Stafford Hospital. A 2009 report already condemned conditions at the hospital, which are said to have caused hundreds of avoidable deaths.
Although this is the fifth inquiry into the higher than expected death rate at Stafford Hospital, it is the first to be held in public. The fifth inquiry has only come about as a result of lobbying from families and the campaign group ‘Cure the NHS’.
Those individuals who have suffered as a result of medical negligence at Stafford Hospital, or relatives of those whose deaths could have been avoided, may consider bringing a claim for medical negligence. Numerous cases have already been brought against the Hospital Trust. Anyone who believes they have a similar claim should contact our medical negligence team, as our solicitors are experienced in dealing with negligence claims arising from sub-standard medical treatment.
