Mystery of British serviceman missing in Afghanistan

The MoD has confirmed that an extensive operation to locate a missing serviceman is under way in Afghanistan. It seems that a soldier left his base, all by himself, in the early hours of Monday morning. If it really happened like that, it’s unheard-of. Servicemen just do not walk out into the Afghan plain alone, in the middle of the night. The only time we’ve come across strange behaviour of that sort (leaving your spare Mini Me barrel behind, for instance) is in the context of a compensation claim for PTSD.
